You can then check to see whether there are any large residues on the walls. When you detect a thick residue on the tank walls, turn off the unit and take it out. After cleaning the tank in soapy water, replacing the salt with new ones, and refilling the tank. Next, switch the unit back ON. This will prevent any salt-related problems.
